Integrated Design Research (IDR) Journal
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to the Integrated Design Research (IDR) Journal. All submissions are initially assessed by the editorial team to determine their alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts considered suitable will proceed to the peer review process. Submissions that do not meet the required standards may be declined at this stage.
Authors are encouraged to ensure that their manuscripts are clearly structured, with a well-articulated research argument. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be self-contained and clearly communicate the purpose, approach, and contribution of the study.
1. Author Responsibilities
Prior to submission, authors are responsible for ensuring that:

- All listed authors have approved the submission and consent to authorship
- Permissions have been obtained for all third-party materials (images, datasets, documents, etc.)
- The research complies with relevant ethical standards and has received appropriate approvals where required
2. Submission Process
The Integrated Design Research (IDR) Journal accepts submissions via email.

4. Use of Generative AI Tools
The IDR Journal recognises that generative AI and AI assisted technologies can support aspects of the research and writing process when used responsibly. However, such tools must not replace human critical thinking, analysis, or authorship.
Authors must ensure that:
- All AI generated content is carefully reviewed, verified, and edited
- The manuscript reflects the author’s original analysis, interpretation, and contribution
- All sources are checked for accuracy and reliability
- The use of AI tools complies with data privacy and intellectual property requirements
Authors remain fully responsible and accountable for the content of their work.
ToolsDeclaration Requirement
If generative AI tools have been used in preparing the manuscript, authors must include a declaration at the time of submission.
This statement should be placed in a separate section before the references, using the following format:
Section Title: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Manuscript Preparation Process
Example Statement: During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL / SERVICE] for [PURPOSE]. The authors reviewed and edited the content as required and take full responsibility for the final manuscript.
- If AI tools were used for basic grammar or reference checking, a declaration is required.
- AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors.
